Gov. Newsom signed an executive order shepherding rebuilding homes and schools that were lost to the Eaton and Palisades fires. He also joined local officials to unveil a new blueprint for recovery, a step-by-step plan to accelerate rebuilding and provide support to impacted families and communities.
The executive order fast-tracks the rebuilding of homes and schools affected by the disaster by suspending local permitting laws and building codes, at the request of local officials. The order:
